Johnson is a third-generation leader from the family that founded the company and over the course of her 35-year career, she has worked in or led every major division of the business. Johnson is one of the few women leading a major financial services company. Since becoming CEO in 2020, she has helped the 79-year-old firm grow to $1.7 trillion in assets under management serving clients in 150 countries.

Recently, Franklin Templeton has been a leader in regulated blockchain-based investment products and real-time investment features that are used by both retail and institutional clients. The company launched several fully regulated, fully on-chain tokenized funds operating across the U.S., Europe, and Asia that have grown to $1.1 billion in assets under management. In 2025, the firm also launched Intraday Yield, a patent-pending feature allowing investors in tokenized securities to earn and see interest or dividend income the same day.
