Atif Rafiq is President of Commercial & Growth at MGM Resorts International. In this role, Atif leads companywide strategy and transformation to evolve guest experience and drive growth of the business.

As the lead commercial officer, Atif manages all revenue streams and their drivers, including brand positioning, customer strategy, guest offerings, end-to-end experience and business models. He oversees several functions including Marketing, Brand, Revenue Management, Analytics, Digital, Engineering, IT and Data Science.

Previously, Atif formulated and drove one of the largest digital transformations in the world at McDonald's as Senior Vice President and Global Chief Digital Officer. Atif joined MGM Resorts in May 2019 from Volvo Cars, where he led strategic initiatives to embrace business model change through digital subscriptions, developed direct-to-consumer relationships, introduced a wave of connectivity services for cars and created partnerships with tech giants as Chief Digital Officer and Global CIO.

He possesses significant experience with culture change, organizing a company around customers, recruitment of new tech-savvy talent, and business model evolution.

Atif has been at the center of Internet and digital disruption for over 20 years, building on 15 years of experience in pure play tech companies such as Amazon, Yahoo! and AOL where he led large scale, fast growing digital businesses. Atif has also been the Founder / CEO of a Silicon Valley start-up, Covigna, which he led from inception to exit.

He began his career at Goldman Sachs as a financial analyst, supporting companies such as Borders, Kmart, PetSmart, Lockheed Martin and other corporations on M&A and fundraising.

Atif holds a bachelor's degree in Mathematics-Economics from Wesleyan University and a master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Chicago.
