Welcome bonus
Earn 150,000 bonus miles once you spend $30,000 in the first three months from account opening.
Benefits and perks
The Venture X Business comes with several statement credits and travel perks. Most of these are the same as the ones offered on the consumer Venture X.
Statement credits
- $300 annual travel credit: Every year, cardholders get a $300 credit for travel bookings through Capital One Business Travel. This credit is applied directly to your Capital One Business Travel account and can be used at checkout on a single purchase or multiple purchases. The credit expires on the next account open anniversary date.
- $120 TSA PreCheck/Global Entry credit: Cardholders get up to a $120 statement credit every four years when they use their card to pay for their TSA PreCheck or Global Entry application fee. The credit will only apply to one program and will reflect the actual fee charged, so it's best to use it on the more expensive Global Entry program (which automatically grants TSA PreCheck benefits).
- 10,000 anniversary bonus miles: Cardholders get 10,000 bonus miles each account anniversary starting from their first, which can be redeemed for a $100 statement credit against recent travel (or spent on any of the card's other redemption options).
The above benefits provide up to $520 in tangible value each year, which is more than enough to cover the card's $395 annual fee.
Airport lounge access
A major perk of the Venture X Business is its lounge access, which grants primary cardholders unlimited access to over 1,300 airport lounges worldwide through Priority Pass™ (enrollment required) and Capital One Lounge and Landing locations.
These lounges offer a dedicated space for travelers to relax before their flight and often have amenities like complimentary food and beverages. Lounge access is available on a first-come, first-served basis and requires an eligible ticket for a departing or connecting flight.
You can add lounge access for additional cardholders for a $125 annual fee per cardholder. Here's a closer look at access requirements:
Capital One Venture X Business Credit Card airport lounge changes
| Lounge access policy |
|---|
| Complimentary Capital One and Priority Pass lounge access for additional cardholders who pay a $125 annual lounge access fee per cardholder (up to four additional cardholders); no lounge access for additional cardholders who don’t pay the fee, or for their guests |
| Primary cardholders and eligible additional cardholders, who spend at least $75,000 per calendar year on their card account, can bring two complimentary guests to Capital One Lounges and one complimentary guest to Capital One Landings; cardholders who don’t meet the spending requirements can’t bring complimentary guests to Capital One Lounges/Landings but can purchase guest passes at a discounted rate |
| Primary cardholders and eligible additional cardholders can each bring two complimentary guests to Priority Pass lounges, with no spending requirement |
The $75,000 spending threshold is based on spend from all cardholders across the account (including the primary cardholder, authorized users and account managers) per calendar year. Complimentary guest access is available for the calendar year in which the $75,000 spend occurs, the entirety of the following calendar year, and until Jan. 31 of the year after that.
Additional offerings
- The Premier Collection hotel benefits: Cardholders get a $100 experience credit when booking hotels or vacation rentals from the Premier Collection through Capital One Business Travel. The experience credit can be used on things like hotel restaurants, in-home chefs and other activities.
- Hertz President's Circle status*: Cardholders get automatic President's Circle status with rental car company Hertz (enrollment required). This status grants benefits like a dedicated customer service line, guaranteed upgrades and more.
- Extended warranty: Cardholders get complimentary extended warranty on eligible items purchased with their card.
- Free employee cards: Business owners can add employee cards for free and set customized spending limits for those cards.
- Business management tools: The Venture X Business comes with several business management features, including the ability to choose your own payment due date, download purchase records in multiple formats and designate an account manager to review transactions and make payments.
- No preset spending limit: The card has no preset spending limit. Keep in mind this doesn't mean unlimited spending, and you must pay your balance in full every month.
*Please note, enrolling through the normal Hertz Gold Plus Rewards enrollment process (e.g. at Hertz.com) will not automatically detect a cardholder as being eligible for the program and cardholders will not be automatically upgraded to the applicable status tier. Additional terms apply.
How to earn and redeem Capital One miles
Earning Capital One miles
The Venture X Business earns:
- 10X miles on hotels and rental cars booked through Capital One Business Travel
- 5X miles on flights and vacation rentals booked through Capital One Business Travel
- 2X miles on all other purchases
The Venture X Business's flat rewards rate on all purchases (with the exception of the bonuses for Capital One Business Travel bookings) is perfect for business owners seeking simplicity or who want a flat-rate "catch-all" card to pair with a category-specific rewards card. If you're willing to book all your business travel through the Capital One portal, the higher earning rates on hotels, rental cars, flights and vacation rentals can help you quickly rack up miles.
Your miles don't expire as long as your account is open and in good standing.
Redeeming Capital One miles
You can redeem your Capital One miles in the following ways:
- A statement credit to cover eligible recent travel expenses
- Booking travel through Capital One Business Travel
- Cash back
- Gift cards
- Shop with Rewards at eligible retailers (including Amazon and PayPal)
- Transfer miles to Capital One hotel and airline partners
The value of miles may vary by redemption option. Generally, redeeming your miles for a statement credit toward past travel, making new bookings through Capital One Business Travel or transferring miles to partners will give you the best value.
Capital One has 22 transfer partners — 18 airline and four hotel loyalty programs. Unless otherwise noted, miles transfer at a 1:1 ratio. The partners are as follows:
Capital One transfer partners
| Capital One transfer partners | Transfer ratio |
|---|---|
| Accor Live Limitless | 2:1 |
| Aeromexico Rewards | 1:1 |
| Air Canada Aeroplan | 1:1 |
| Avianca LifeMiles | 1:1 |
| British Airways Club | 1:1 |
| Cathay Pacific Asia Miles | 1:1 |
| Choice Privileges | 1:1 |
| Emirates Skywards | 4:3 |
| Etihad Guest | 1:1 |
| EVA Air Infinity MileageLands | 4:3 |
| Finnair Plus | 1:1 |
| Flying Blue (Air France/KLM) | 1:1 |
| I Prefer Hotel Rewards | 1:2 |
| JAL Mileage Bank | 4:3 |
| JetBlue TrueBlue | 5:3 |
| Qantas Frequent Flyer | 1:1 |
| Qatar Airways Privilege Club | 1:1 |
| Singapore KrisFlyer | 1:1 |
| TAP Air Portugal Miles&Go | 1:1 |
| Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles | 1:1 |
| Virgin Red | 1:1 |
| Wyndham Rewards | 1:1 |
To transfer miles, you'll need at least 1,000 miles in your account, and the name on your loyalty account must match the name on your Capital One account. All mile transfers are final.
Rates and fees
The Venture X Business charges a $395 annual fee, the same as the consumer version of the card. That's on the low end for premium credit cards with airport lounge access, making this card one of the most affordable ways to get unlimited lounge access for yourself (but not necessarily your guests, after January 2026). The card also comes with no foreign transaction fees, making it good for international travelers.
The Venture X Business is a pay-in-full card, so there's no option to carry a balance from month to month and no APR. If you don't pay your full balance every month, you'll be charged a late fee of 2.99% of the outstanding balance, and your account will be considered past due until you pay in full.
Card comparison
The Capital One Venture X Business can provide great value for business owners who enjoy traveling and want perks to make their experience even better. But is the Venture X Business the best business travel credit card for you? CNBC Select analyzed two other premium travel credit cards for business to see how they match up.
Capital One Venture X Business vs. The Business Platinum Card® from American Express
If you want even more premium benefits, consider The Business Platinum Card® from American Express. The card's $895 annual fee (see rates and fees) is more than double the Venture X Business's, but the Business Platinum comes with a long list of business and travel credits. They include:
- A $300 semi-annual credit on prepaid bookings through Amex Travel with Fine Hotels + Resorts or The Hotel Collection (two-night minimum stay required for The Hotel Collection)
- Up to $200 in annual airline incidental fee credits for one eligible airline of your choice (enrollment required)
- Up to $209 in annual CLEAR+ credits (subject to auto-renewal; excluding applicable taxes and fees)
- Up to $1,150 annually in credits for U.S. purchases directly with Dell (up to $150 on U.S. purchases directly with Dell Technologies), and an additional $1,000 statement credit after spending $5,000 or more per calendar year on these purchases; enrollment required)
Cardholders also get travel insurance, Marriott and Hilton elite status and access to Priority Pass and Amex's own Centurion® Lounges. The Business Platinum's rewards rates are relatively lackluster, so the main reasons to get this card are if you can maximize the credits or if you want access to Amex's lounge network and transfer partners.
The Business Platinum Card from American Express is a premium business card loaded with statement credit offers for business services and travel that help justify its steep annual fee.
- Access to 1,550 airport lounges, including Priority Pass (Enrollment required) and Amex Centurion lounges
- Hotel and rental car elite status perks
- Earns flexible rewards you can transfer to 20+ airline and hotel loyalty programs (Enrollment required for select benefits mentioned; Benefits may be subject to auto-renewal)
- High annual fee
- Limited bonus spending categories
- Some statement credit offers are earned in small increments or only apply to purchases from a single brand

Is the Venture X Business right for you?
If you're a business owner looking for premium travel perks, the Venture X Business provides excellent value for your money. The $395-annual-fee card is one of the cheapest ways to get airport lounge access, and the annual travel credit and anniversary bonus miles are enough to fully offset the annual fee. Plus, the card's rewards rates are simple but solid.
One potential sticking point is the welcome bonus. Its welcome bonus is one of the best we've seen, but the spending requirement may be out of reach for smaller businesses. Large business owners with lots of expenses should definitely jump on this offer, but smaller proprietors might want to consider a card with a more accessible bonus, like the Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card (see rates and fees).
