Welcome bonus
After qualifying for a Wells Fargo Attune℠ World Elite Mastercard®, you can earn a $100 cash rewards bonus after spending $500 in purchases in the first three months. While this is smaller than the best welcome bonuses, the low spending requirement makes it easy to earn, effectively giving you 20% back on that initial spend.
Benefits and perks
The Wells Fargo Attune℠ World Elite Mastercard® offers several shopping and travel protections. Eligible purchases are covered by this card's cell phone protection and rental car collision damage waiver (secondary coverage). The cell phone insurance covers damage and theft and applies when you pay your monthly wireless phone bill with your Attune card. It provides up to $600 in reimbursement per claim with a $25 deductible and you can make a maximum of two claims every 12 months.
You can also utilize several Mastercard perks, including ID theft protection and travel and lifestyle services.
How to earn and redeem cash rewards
Earning
The Wells Fargo Attune℠ World Elite Mastercard® is a cash-back credit card and earns cash rewards at these rates:
- 4% cash rewards on self-care (i.e., gym memberships, spas and salons).
- 4% cash rewards on select sports, recreation and entertainment
- 4% cash rewards on impactful purchases, including EV charging, public transit and at select thrift stores
- 1% cash rewards on all other purchases
Redeeming
You can redeem Wells Fargo cash rewards for gift cards, statement credits, deposits (into eligible Wells Fargo accounts) and more. Regardless of how you use your Attune Card's cash rewards, the value is the same.
If you also have a Wells Fargo credit card that allows point transfers to travel partners, such as the no-annual-fee Wells Fargo Autograph® Card, you can increase the versatility of this card's rewards. You can combine the rewards you earn and indirectly transfer your Attune card's rewards to airline and hotel loyalty programs such as Choice Privileges, British Airways Executive Club and Avianca LifeMiles.
Rates and fees
The Wells Fargo Attune℠ World Elite Mastercard® has no annual fee or late payment fee. It also offers a 0% intro APR for 12 months from account opening for purchases.
There is a 3% foreign transaction fee, so it's not a great option for traveling outside the U.S. Check out CNBC Select's best credit cards with no foreign transaction fees for your next overseas trip.

Wells Fargo Attune℠ World Elite Mastercard® vs.
Prime Visa
The Prime Visa is only available to Amazon Prime members ($139 for an annual membership and $14.99 for a monthly membership) but is very rewarding for Amazon purchases.
- High rate of return at Amazon and Whole Foods
- Easy-to-earn welcome bonus
- Requires an Amazon Prime membership
- If you choose the promo APR you won't earn rewards on those purchases
Rewards
- Earn unlimited 5% back at Amazon.com, Amazon Fresh, Whole Foods Market and on Chase Travel purchases with an eligible Prime membership
- Unlimited 2% back at gas stations, restaurants, and on local transit and commuting (including rideshare)
- 10% back or more on a rotating selection of items and categories on Amazon.com with an eligible Prime membership
- Unlimited 1% back on all other purchases
Balance transfer fee
Either $5 or 4% of the amount of each transfer, whichever is greater
The Prime Visa (see rates and fees) is one of the most rewarding cards to use for Amazon purchases. While it technically has no annual fee, you need a Prime membership to qualify, which costs $139 a year or $14.99 a month if you're not eligible for a special discount.
The Prime Visa earns a stunning 5% cash back on purchases at Amazon, Amazon Fresh and Whole Foods. The Wells Fargo Attune doesn't match that cash-back rate, but it earns 4% cash rewards at bookstores, which includes Amazon transactions based on the CNBC Select team's experiences and online reports.
This makes the Wells Fargo Attune a good alternate card to use at Amazon for anyone who doesn't need or want to pay for a Prime membership.
If you travel or are making an expensive purchase, however, the Prime Visa has a better suite of insurance perks. You'll have access to purchase protection, extended warranty protection, travel accident insurance, baggage delay insurance, lost luggage reimbursement, rental car coverage and it has no foreign transaction fees.

The Wells Fargo Autograph® Card is an excellent no-annual-fee travel credit card because it earns flexible travel rewards.
Rather than replacing the Attune card, the Autograph card is an ideal companion. This is because it earns a high return on many purchases that qualify for 1% cash rewards with the Attune card, such as dining, streaming services and at gas stations.
The Autograph card gives you full access to all of the Wells Fargo Rewards program's partner travel programs. You can transfer points to Iberia Plus, Avianca LifeMiles, Choice Privileges, British Airways Executive Club, Virgin Red (Virgin Atlantic Flying Club), Aer Lingus AerClub and Flying Blue (Air France/KLM).
If you have the Autograph and Attune cards, you can extend the ability to transfer points to the rewards you earn with the Attune, which adds more value to the partnership.
