Benefits and perks

U.S. Bank Triple Cash Rewards Visa Business Card members can earn money back every year they have this card. You'll get a $100 statement credit annually for recurring software subscription expenses such as FreshBooks or QuickBooks. This isn't the most straightforward statement credit to earn, but it's practical because most side hustles and small businesses are already paying monthly software subscription fees.

How to earn and redeem cash back rewards

Earning

The U.S. Bank Triple Cash Rewards Visa Business Card earns cash back at the following rates:

  • 5% back on prepaid hotels and rental cars booked through the U.S. Bank Travel Rewards Center
  • 3% back at office supply stores
  • 3% back at gas and EV charging stations (on transactions $200 or less; excludes discount stores/supercenters and wholesale clubs)
  • 3% back at restaurants
  • 3% back with cell phone service providers
  • 1% back on all other eligible purchases

Redeeming

You can redeem your cash back for a statement credit, direct deposit or a U.S. Bank Rewards Card. You can also link your card to Amazon and PayPal and use your rewards to pay for purchases.

To instantly redeem cash back for eligible purchases, you can enroll in Real-Time Rewards. If you do, you'll set a minimum redemption amount and receive a text whenever you make an eligible purchase. You can respond to these prompts to redeem rewards.

Rates and fees

The U.S. Bank Triple Cash Rewards Visa Business Card has no annual fee, but there's a 3% fee for each foreign transaction. A penalty of $41 applies to late payments and $40 for returned payments and over-limit transactions.

Cardholders also get a 0% intro APR for 12 months on purchases and balance transfers, then a variable 17.24% to 26.24% applies.

Card comparison

U.S. Bank Triple Cash Rewards Visa Business vs. Blue Business Plus Credit Card from American Express

Small business owners who are interested in earning travel rewards may prefer the Blue Business® Plus Credit Card from American Express over the U.S. Bank Triple Cash Rewards card. Both cards have no annual fee (see rates and fees), but the Amex Blue Business Plus card earns American Express Membership Rewards® Points. These points can be transferred to a variety of airline and hotel loyalty programs, including Emirates Skywards, Marriott Bonvoy, Delta SkyMiles and JetBlue TrueBlue.

The Amex Blue Business Plus earns 2X points on your first $50,000 in eligible purchases per calendar year, then 1X points (terms and limitations apply). On the surface, the U.S. Bank card is better for bonus category purchases. However, Amex points can be much more valuable than cash back rewards.

U.S. Bank Triple Cash Rewards Visa Business vs. Ink Business Unlimited

The Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card (see rates and fees) has no annual fee, an intro APR offer and an exceptionally valuable welcome bonus. It's very similar to the U.S Bank Triple Cash Rewards Business; however, there are two key differences.

It earns at least 1.5% cash back on every purchase, so if your business has a lot of expenses that fall outside of the Triple Cash Rewards' bonus categories, the Ink Business Unlimited may be more valuable to you.

This card can also be a better fit for anyone who already has a Chase credit card that enables point transfers, such as the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card (see rates and fees), Chase Sapphire Reserve® (see rates and fees) or Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card (see rates and fees). The reason for this is that you can move the rewards you earn with this card to one of the previously mentioned cards and transfer them to any of Chase's travel partners. This option gives you more flexibility in how you use your rewards and can dramatically increase their value.

Is the U.S. Bank Triple Cash Rewards Visa Business right for you?

There's a lot to like about the U.S. Bank Triple Cash Rewards Visa Business Card. It has no annual fee and an extended period to earn its welcome bonus. Plus, the cash back rates are excellent, and if you qualify for the annual software credit, you're effectively getting paid to keep the card.

Anyone looking to finance a business investment or to save on existing credit card debt will find this card's intro APR offer valuable, as well.

The only real knock on this card is that it earns cash back. In general, cash back rewards don't have as much potential value as the best travel rewards. So if you're laser-focused on having your credit card spending pay for your future business trips, you may be better off with a business travel credit card.
