Omega Auto Care extended car warranty review 2026

Omega Auto Care is one of the only vehicle service contract companies that includes routine maintenance.

Share

Omega Auto Care stands out among vehicle service contract companies because its plans include routine maintenance, which most brands exclude or charge extra for. Covering oil changes, brake pads, battery replacements and lube jobs can save you hundreds of dollars a year, even if your car doesn't need a repair.

Another money-saver: Omega will waive its $100 deductible if you use a RepairPal-certified shop.

While its premiums are higher than some competitors', Omega customers enjoy valuable preventive care and long-term savings.

New Exclusionary

(Under 100,000 miles/7 years) Similar to a new car warranty, this bumper-to-bumper policy covers almost all components.

Omega Auto Care requirements

To apply for an Omega Auto Care service contract, you’ll need the make and model of your vehicle, as well as its Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and current mileage.

Age and mileage limits

Omega Auto Care accepts vehicles that are under 15 years old or that have under 250,000 miles on the odometer.

Waiting period

Most extended warranty companies impose a waiting period to ensure a vehicle is in good working condition; Omega’s 30-day period is typical in the industry. Policyholders must also drive an additional 1,000 miles before their policy is active.

Deductibles

The standard $100 deductible is waived if you use a RepairPal-certified shop.

Claims process

Notify Omega Auto Care's claims department at 877-850-0443 before taking your vehicle to a garage. (If you choose a RepairPal certified shop, the $100 deductible is waived.). The shop must get approval for any repairs from Omega, which will pay them directly.

Offers in this section are from affiliate partners and selected based on a combination of engagement, product relevance, compensation, and consistent availability.

How much does Omega Auto Care cost?

We requested a price quote for Omega’s top-of-the-line Exclusionary plan, which provides bumper-to-bumper coverage for six years or 75,000 additional miles, whichever comes first. For a 2021 Ford Escape with 50,000 miles, we were quoted a price of $137 per month for 24 months, with a 10% deposit.

What is mechanical breakdown insurance?

Similar to an extended car warranty, mechanical breakdown insurance (MBI) covers unexpected mechanical or electrical issues that occur after your manufacturer's warranty has expired. Our top picks include Geico and AAA.

The primary difference is that MBI is typically available as an add-on to your car insurance policy. Additionally, while extended car warranties are available for older or higher-mileage cars, MBI is typically limited to newer vehicles.

How does Omega Auto Care compare?

Here's how Omega Auto Care stacks up against two major competitors.

Omega Auto Care vs. Toco

Omega and Toco are both direct sellers with a limited number of mileage-based plans. If your car has more than 150,000 miles, Omega's Powertrain plan includes components Toco's Green plan doesn't.

Both companies also received positive customer reviews and an A+ from the Better Business Bureau. Omega does have some complaints about denied claims and difficulty cancelling coverage, however.

Toco Extended Car Warranty

  • Policy highlights

Four mileage-based coverage tiers are available, along with 24/7 roadside assistance and rental car coverage. Policies are month-to-month and mechanics are paid directly by Toco for covered repairs.

  • Eligibility

Up to 20 years old or 250,000 miles

  • Choose your garage?

    Yes

  • Availability

Toco offers service contracts in all U.S. states except Alaska, California, Missouri and Washington.

Pros

  • Sell and administer its own plans
  • Budget-friendly monthly payment plan
  • Covers vehicles with up to 250,000 miles

Cons

  • Not available in Alaska, California, Missouri or Washington
  • 90-day waiting period
  • Plan offerings based on vehicle mileage

Omega's waiting period is only 30 days, compared to up to 90 with Toco. On the other hand, Toco's plans are month-to-month with no down payment, while Omega requires a 10% down payment.

We can't forget that Omega covers routine maintenance for the first 13 months of your contract. That alone tips the scales in its favor.

Omega Auto Care vs. Olive

Digital-first Olive allows you to get a quote and buy your policy online, whereas you'll need to call customer service to obtain a quote and purchase an Omega plan.

Olive Extended Car Warranty

  • Policy highlights

Olive offers three plans: Bumper-to-bumper, powertrain and powertrain plus.

  • Eligibility

Up to 10 years or 140,000 miles.

  • Coverage terms

Covers up to 3 years or 185,000 miles, with no yearly mileage limits

  • Choose your garage?

    Yes

  • Availability

Olive's extended car warranties are available in all U.S. states except Massachusetts.

Olive has stronger customer reviews and lower monthly premiums, but it also has shorter terms, fewer perks and tighter mileage and term caps. If you don't need any extras, it might be the right choice.

Omega's higher price tag comes with more enhanced roadside benefits, a higher mileage limit and routine maintenance for 13 months.

How do I buy an Omega Auto Care extended car warranty?

Omega Auto Care doesn't provide quotes or sell plans online, but you can contact customer service at 877-850-0443, Monday through Friday from 9 am to 8 pm ET, or Saturday from 9 am to 1 pm ET.

You'll need to provide your vehicle make, model, mileage and VIN before an agent will give you a quote. You can then purchase your plan with a credit or debit card.

Is Omega Auto Care right for me?

Omega Auto Care is a good option if you have an older vehicle or prefer to have routine maintenance covered.

It has a generally positive reputation, with a 3.7 out of 5.0 stars from the Better Business Bureau and over 70% of Trustpilot reviews rating the company four or five stars. Customers frequently commend the company's customer service, but some had complaints about denied claims and difficulties canceling contracts.

If those are red flags for you, consider an alternative.
