The AllTrips Executive plan is a multi-trip policy designed for business travelers, with higher trip cancellation and interruption limits and coverage for business equipment. You can also opt for OneTrip Rental Car Protector if you need primary car rental coverage against collision, loss or damage.
Here are the types of coverage you can find in Allianz policies, although options and limits vary by plan.
- Trip cancellation
- Trip interruption
- Medical emergency and transportation
- Travel delay
- Baggage loss, damage or delay
- Travel accident
- Pre-existing condition waiver (available with all plans if purchased within 14 days of first payment)
- Change fees (reimburses you if the airline charges you for changing flight date)
Additionally, the OneTrip Prime and Premier plans include free coverage of one child 17 or younger traveling with a covered adult. (Not available to Pennsylvania residents.)

How much does Allianz Travel Insurance cost?
We requested coverage for a two-week United Kingdom vacation in April for two 35-year-old adults from New York with two children, ages 8 and 10, and a cost of about $3,000 per person or $12,000 total.
Allianz quoted us $75.50 per traveler, or $302 total for the trip. That comes to about 2.5% of the trip's total cost, on the low.
How Allianz compares to other travel insurance companies
Allianz Travel is a solid choice for travel insurance, but it always pays to compare providers.

Allianz Travel vs. AXA Assistance USA
Allianz Travel and AXA Assistance USA are among our top picks for travel insurance and the two carriers have comparable limits for trip cancellation and trip interruption.
AXA Assistance USA Travel Insurance
Policy highlights
Silver, Gold and Platinum plans, with add-ons including rental car collision protection and coverage for sports equipment rentals, lost ski days and golf rounds
Cancel For Any Reason coverage
Reimburses 75% of nonrefundable trip costs if you purchase within 14 days of booking
Pre-existing condition waiver
Available with Gold and Platinum plans if purchased within 14 days of trip deposit.
There is a difference with baggage protection: AXA's mid-level Gold plan caps lost luggage at $1,500, while Allianz's OneTrip Premier will reimburse you up to $2,000. If your bags are delayed, Allianz will pay out up to $600 after a 12-hour wait. AXA, meanwhile, will pay you half as much and make you wait twice as long.
AXA does outpace Allianz on emergency medical coverage, with a maximum benefit of $100,000.
If you want the reassurance of a Cancel For Any Reason benefit, Allianz's OneTrip Premier plan offers it as an add-on that pays 80% of nonrefundable trip costs. AXA doesn't offer CFAR coverage with its Gold plan.
Allianz Travel vs. AIG Travel Guard
AIG Travel Guard's Preferred plan is comparable to Allianz's Premier offering, with the same maximums for cancellation and interruption, missed connections and medical evacuation.

Both plans have optional CFAR coverage, though Allianz's limit is slightly higher.
Once again, Allianz offers more protection if your luggage is delayed. If your items are lost or stolen, however, Travel Guard's payout cap is $500 higher.
Is Allianz Travel Insurance right for me?
Allianz Travel Insurance can be a smart investment for many, including business travelers who need multi-trip plans and families traveling with kids under 17.
If you're unsure about your health, Allianz offers a waiver for pre-existing conditions and an optional Cancel For Any Reason add-on that reimburses 80% of nonrefundable trip costs. Unfortunately, the CFAR benefit can't be ordered online — you have to work with a travel agent.
We recommend gathering several quotes and comparing plans before you purchase travel insurance. As with any financial product, it pays to shop around.
Allianz Travel Insurance FAQs
What does Allianz Travel Insurance not cover?
Allianz travel insurance won't cover foreseen circumstances. And, unless you purchase the cancel anytime upgrade, your policy won't cover cancellation for fear of travel, changes of plans, passport processing delays, or issues with your travel partner.
Does Allianz cover pre-existing medical conditions?
Allianz does offer a waiver for pre-existing medical conditions. It must be purchased within 14 days of your first trip payment. The look-back period is 120 days before your plan purchase date.
Does Allianz offer Cancel For Any Reason insurance?
Allianz offers Cancel For Any Reason insurance that pays out up to 80% of your nonrefundable trip costs. You'll need to buy this optional add-on within 14 days of your first trip deposit and it will remain in effect until 48 hours before your departure.
Can I cancel my Allianz policy?
Allianz's review period gives you at least 15 days to request a full refund, depending on the state. To qualify, you can't have started your trip or filed a claim.
