Zach Teutsch is the founder of and a managing partner at Values Added Financial in Washington, D.C., a comprehensive financial planning firm for progressive clients.

Prior to founding Values Added, Teutsch worked for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, where he focused on financial education and empowerment. He also investigated mortgage-servicing misconduct cases and led that division in dollars returned to consumers.

Before that, he built the first national financial skills education programs for union members, initially at the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees and later with the AFL-CIO and National Labor College.

Teutsch has taught investment and financial planning topics to groups all around the country, and his advice has appeared in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, CNBC, Yahoo Finance, GQ, Brown Alumni Magazine, The Washington Post, Forbes, Vox, The Billfold and more.

Teutsch was named one of Financial Planning Magazine's Rising Stars in 2023 and was named a Top Financial Adviser by Washingtonian magazine in 2024 and 2025. He is a member of the Alliance of Comprehensive Planners and the Kinder Institute of Life Planning.

Teutsch is an advisor to District of Columbia Councilmember Janeese Lewis George and has been an advocate for progressive local policies in the city.
