Despite the tailwind of AI, South Korea's economy still has challenges beneath the hood: HSBC

Frederic Neumann, chief Asia economist at HSBC, says the average Korean citizen who doesn't have a big stock portfolio is not necessarily seeing the benefit from the AI boom, and that the central bank has to be cautious about the inflationary impact of the Iran war. He also says that China's relative energy security has advantaged its export industry at the expense of other Asian nations.
