U.K.'s ruling Labour Party suffers heavy losses in local elections
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer is facing fresh pressure, as his Labour party suffers heavy losses in local elections across the country. The far-right Reform party, led by Nigel Farage, has been the big winner so far, taking over 300 local seats, although counting will continue throughout Friday. These results seem to confirm pre-election polling that pointed to a major fracture in British politics, away from the traditionally dominant Labour and Conservative parties, towards Reform and The Greens.
