Innovate Finance CEO: UK can create fintech champions, but challenge is keeping them

Janine Hirt, CEO of Innovate Finance, tells CNBC’s Ritika Gupta the U.K. has the world’s strongest ecosystem for fintech growth and investment. However, she warns that some of the sector’s largest scaling companies are increasingly looking to move their headquarters overseas, and urges policymakers to take stronger action to keep them in the U.K. Hirt was speaking ahead of the Innovate Finance Global Summit in London, which brings together fintech leaders and policymakers to showcase U.K. leadership in financial technology.
