China's 'distracting' GDP growth targets could be scrapped if Xi Jinping has his way: UBP

Carlos Casanova of UBP says China's focus on hitting its GDP growth targets have been limiting the state's ability to address underlying structural issues in the economy, and that investors need to "get over" their focus on the number and understand that the trend is towards lower but higher quality growth. He also says that China is unlikely to announce a Made In China 2035 plan, but the ethos of that mission will remain intact within the targets of the 15th Five Year Plan.
