Why OpenTable, Resy and DoorDash are fighting for your reservation

Founded in 1998, OpenTable went relatively unchallenged in the online reservation space for more than a decade. Its dominance was disrupted by Resy, which targeted highly sought-after restaurants by undercutting OpenTable on pricing and offering more advanced software. OpenTable has since revamped its business model and partnered with Visa and Chase to better compete with American Express-backed Resy and new entrants like DoorDash.
