Why ACA enrollment is falling for the first time in years

More than a million Americans have left the ACA marketplace in 2026 as premium payments spike following the expiration of enhanced subsidies. Data analyzed by KFF show average costs for subsidized enrollees who keep the same plan have more than doubled year-over-year. For many households, that means making difficult trade-offs. CNBC's Greg Iacurci reports on what he learned speaking to several households who had to make these tough financial choices.
