Watch: Waymo launches paid robotaxi rides on freeways

Waymo robotaxis will now take passengers on freeways in three major U.S. cities, marking a major milestone for the driverless, ride-hailing company. The Alphabet-owned company said it'll begin offering those types of trips in the San Francisco, Phoenix and the Los Angeles markets. Waymo also announced an expansion to San Jose, California, where its robotaxis can now pick up and drop off at the SJC airport. The company has been testing robotaxi freeway rides with employees for more than a year.
