While the U.S. is the only "true superpower" nation left in the near-term future, it is unlikely to be interested in stepping up as a world leader because the state of global affairs in a leaderless, divided world does not hurt it "the way it hurts other countries," says Ian Bremmer, president and founder of Eurasia Group and GZERO Media.
