Retailers pledge 15% of shelf space to Black-owned businesses
After the death of George Floyd, many big companies expressed support for the Black community. In an effort to attach a metric to this support, entrepreneur Aurora James founded the nonprofit organization '15 Percent Pledge,' an initiative based on the idea that since nearly 15% of Americans are Black, large retailers should dedicate 15 percent of their shelf space to Black-owned businesses. Aurora James tells us why she thinks taking the pledge is the right move for society—and for business.
