He is known as an investor in cryptocurrency and a wide array of businesses such as independent film distributor Magnolia Pictures and Alyssa's Bakery.
In 2000, Cuban acquired the Dallas Mavericks. The team won the National Basketball Association championship in 2011. In 2023, Cuban sold majority ownership in the Mavericks, but he retains a stake in the team.
He is well known for his participation on the ABC reality program "Shark Tank." He joined the series in season two and announced in November 2023 that the 16th season would be his last. CNBC owns the exclusive off-network cable rights to the Emmy-award winning show.
