More evidence Google plans to jump into wireless?

Wireless carriers, beware: Google might have its eye on you.

Via BGR, The Information reported that the search giant is considering launching its own wireless service, likely beginning in cities—like Kansas City, MO—where the company currently offers Google Fiber.

Analysts say one of the many places Apple can still succeed is in smart home technology, like the Nest, a brand of Google that consists of smart home products, such as thermostats, smoke detectors and security systems including smart doorbells and smart locks. Ironically, the Nest brand name was originally owned by Nest Labs, co-founded in 2010 by former Apple engineers.

The company has had talks with Verizon early in the year about buying wholesale access to its networks, and then presumably selling ii straight to consumers. Google previously had similar talks with Sprint.
